| Nora- This is the girl who touched all of our hearts while we were down there. Nora came to the orphanage a quiet little girl with no story. The equivalent to the CPS in Honduras brought her to the village in November. She had no last name, no hair, and no story at least none that she would tell. Nora looked like an eight or nine year old, but if you asked her, she was five. We guessed that was probably the last birthday she remembered celebrating. When we arived at the orphanage (village), she was a quiet child and often times unresponsive. Often times you could ask her her name and she would just give you a blank stare or a quiet mumble. The second day of our trip, i was listening to amy talk a little bit about Nora and how she was worried about her. Immediately i was drawn to the poor girl as was everyone else on our trip. The next day as we washed walls (one of our many jobs) and all of the children were helping, Nora kind of wandered around on the outskirts looking like she wanted to join but not willing to jump right in. So i took the brush i was using, pulled her over and showed her how to wash. She was such a hard little worker. Of course then i played a little bit of favorites like when one of the little boys tried to steal the brush from her i told them no and that it was Nora's right now. Through the rest of the week she continued to grow. Instead of keeping her distance she would crawl onto our laps just like all of the other kids. The last day when we went to a water park, Nora joined the rest of us playing in the water. Nora really was the visible result of how God used us to touch these children. <-- Right after i got Nora to help wash
Just recently we received the newsletter from the orphange and each time a childs story is told and this time it was Nora's. Yes they found out the story. Shortly after we left, Nora ran into the kitchen screaming and crying. She was furious. One of the house moms calmed her down and Nora spilled out her story. She told her of how awful her dad was and all of the things he had done to her. Amazingly, she also encouraged another girl Daniela who pulled at my heart the day before we left to spill her story of how her father abused her to. I'm sure this is still more to Nora's story, but God used us to love Nora and change her life. Now i have to go back so i can see how she is growing :D -This is just the first story, there will be more to come.

| I leave for Honduras in 2 days!!! 8 days with beautiful children... i am so excited. Last night i went to dinner with a little boy - David- who came to Washington from the orphanage 5 months ago. We are taking down gifts and "tickles" for his little brothers from him. Hopefully someday David can see his brothers again. I cannot wait.... but first i have to have christmas.... blah... but new years eve in honduras!!! YAY!!! Oh our layovers are in Dallas and Miami... so i was thinking when i am in dallas i might have to do a little tram surfing :D and teach all my friends about it. And in miami on the way back i will have to deal with the cranky customs officials... it should be great! | | |

| Hello guys!!! I totally have cool story to share. So I hurt my wrist in volleyball and couldn't play. But we have tournament tomorrow or well more like today and i don't want to miss it. So friday I tried to practice. When i was hitting it hurt really bad but i wanted so bad to just continue. I started getting tears in my eyes and before i knew it the pain had pretty much taken over. I was miserable but i didn't want to stop. Eventually my teammates made me sit. I was really crying by this time and miserable when my coach came over (he's also a youth pastor) and just sat by me. Then he started singing some worship song. All of the sudden, out of the blue, he lays his hand on my wrist and prays for healing. I was so touched. And you know something else, my wrist feels better. Not 100% better but a lot better. Only God could do that!!! | | |
